No Power
« on: November 21, 2010 - 06:03:20 PM »
I put all new wiring harnesses in and now no power anywhere. I am thinking either I did not plug a connector in all the way or ??

Here is where I am, the main + cable goes to the starter, the other goes to the starter relay. Negative ground goes to the block and smaller cable to the frame, correct?

Does the dash get power from the starter relay?

What does the power lug on your starter relay look like? Not sure on the number of wires there, but make sure all that are supposed to be there are there first. Then I'd work to the bulk head connectors, if they are good'n'tight', then I'd go to the ammeter if you still have an ammeter and make sure those connections are good.

I'm a little rusty on my wiring specifics, but someone will correct me.  :eek4:

When you say "harnesses", do you mean just the battery cables?

If you actually did replace the harnesses, where they stock harnesses, or something aftermarket like Painless or Ron Francis or something else?

The power to the bulkhead comes from the front wiring harness(lights) that has a thick wire with a fused linkage that runs from the starter relay to the bulkhead connector.

All M&H harnesses and I think I forgot to put the bolts on the amp meter, because I ordered a new meter.  :banghead:
