Springs and Bars for a stock Hemi Car
« on: November 22, 2010 - 03:37:53 PM »
Are P5249158 Torsion bars and P4452985/P4452984 springs the correct parts for a Hemi Clone car?

I don't want the rear to sit high like a SS Spring does. Would like to gain some handleing performance but don't know if an aftermarket kit is worth the extra money, car will be 4 wheel disc.

With the Heavy Hemi in the nose of your car, I would get Torsion bars at least 1" in diameter, and probably more like 1.06" or even the 1.12".  Many people on this site have had good luck with Espo Springs and things for the rear springs. If you do a search you will find a ton of opinions on Espo springs.  I would definitely go with larger than stock T bars, and front and rear swaybars even if it is just a cruiser. :2cents:

:iagree: Take advantage of 40 plus years of technology! I have 1" t-bars with a 440. The ride is nice, I could have gone bigger. I have ESPO springs too. Hotchkis makes nice stuff but it's pricey? I have about $2500 worth of it to install over the winter.

I checked out Espo's site and they don't even list springs, so they must have things that aren't on their site.

How about a good source for the 1" torsion bars?

Did you get the .96 or the 1.03 bars?

I bought the 1.03's. Then I powder coated them in a deep metallic purple. Sat in the oven over night to room temp after bake oven was shut down.
