History of the motor...
This came out of the late Billy West's field in Selma, NC. For those that don't know Billy; he was a bigger mopar guy than all of us combined. He's been gone for several years. I'd estimate there are at least 500 cars still in his field.
We pulled my 71 318 Challenger, my 73 340 Cuda, a 71 340 Duster, and a 70 383 Road Runner out of the field. The sad part is that 2 years ago there was probably some stuff worth saving. We took our cars out this year and there wasn't much left worth saving. In 2 years there probably won't be anything worth saving
Back to the motor... The motor was stored with the tranny still attached in the back off a bus that he was using for storage. I couldn't ask Billy about the motor because he isn't here anymore to answer, but I assumed that if he was trying to keep it dry and safe in the back of the bus that it must be OK. I guess we'll see.
