Feeback wanted on US Body heavy duty fiberglass hoods
« on: December 10, 2010 - 07:13:53 PM »
I am still considering springing for a scooped hood for my 72 fish.....considering the 6-pack hood at US Body, the heavy duty, metal reinforced one.
http://www.usbody.com/__Photo-Product-Views/A-Hood-Specs/F-Hoods/fcuh-04.htm

Wondering if anyone has experience with this vendor and their products, good or bad.

Anyone have any better options as far as vendors?

Do you have a flat hood or a scooped hood on there now?  Either way I think the 6-pak scoop would be a step in the wrong dirrection. :2cents:

If anything, I'd look for an AAR hood.  Those look the best IMO.

If you've already got the scooped hood, find some pics of the 72 hood blackout treatment.  I can't remember what code it is right now but it was a one year only option that looks really good.

Burdar...See my earlier post. I currently have a stock flat hood.

I like the 6 pack look better than the other "usual" options, plus its functional.   My opinion is that the AAR hood, while cool, is a bit "much", especially for a non-AAR car.

I know everyone has their "aesthetic" opinions and I appreciate you taking time to comment.

That said, whatever I go with, I want to be sure the hood sits right and lines up correctly etc.

Ted, can you give a little more detail as to why you have that opinion?

Are there other options?

I can see you wanting to change it up since you just have a flat hood.  Before making the desition, look for pics of the 72 blackout treatment.  It's a rarely seen treatment and I wouldn't consider it one of the "usual" options.  Whatever you go with, I hope it turns out how you want it.
