    has anyone ever replaced their tail panel on a 71 cuda while quarters were still on car? Just wondering if this was possible or if I have to remove the quarters?

    Yes, it's possible, it's not easy and if the panel is being removed because of rust in the lower areas (very common) it's very likely the trunk pan will either need to be replaced or patched. Pictures of the vehicle would be very helpful in best determining the best course of action...

    The trunk floor did not need to be modified on my project. Perhaps I was lucky and the rust didn't go beyond the tail panel

    thanks for all the help guys, I got the panel in yesterday with not too much problems. I should have been more clear though, I had all new quarters and floors in the cuda and just didn't want to remove them again to fit a new tail panel, they were just held with screws though. I'll try to post pics, but have no luck with photobucket. Thanks again, Chad
