using a Mopar dist the only difference is 2 wires instead of one coming out for points

There is also a price difference between a conversion kit and a whole new distributor.

I don't intend on Hijacking this thread, only promoting discussion. The Question is for Roppa440 about using a Mopar electronic distributor and a GM module. I have one of each of these on hand, and don't have any knowledge of how to blend these together for use in a 68 charger (which I assume came with a points ignition.) Could you provide a diagram (hand drawn or whatever) of how to put this kind of setup together?
If this could be done in a clean fashion, it may be a solution for the stock setup, and maybe more reliable.

Nice simple diagram!

Just make sure you mount the module (thank you Cooter) on something that will act as a heat sink.

Having seen Dave's car in the flesh I can only say that it is a very very nice job.  The interior, the body and the paint really are truly outstanding and although I haven't ridden in it I also know that he has put a massive amount of work and money into all the right places on the mechanical side of it and with an enviable attention to detail.
