Just dash's interior fit??
« on: December 08, 2010 - 09:21:02 AM »
I am considering purchasing a full interior set of Red panels that have been recovered by Just dash's back in 1990.  The panels have what seems to be a vinyl wrap around the original texture.
Has anyone ever used one of these sets?  Do these still fit ok in the car since they are increased in size on all sides?

I just don't want to purchase a set and be unhappy because they will not fit very well.

You are correct on the door panels.  They vacuum form a new cover over the original door panel, so you definitely end up with a different look and feel.  The upside is that they are originals, so fitment should not be an issue, although how many of us have ever had even an original panel fit perfectly?  For the price (how much are the ones you're looking at?) you might be better off with a set of the new Metro front panels, and/or wait until the new rear panels come out and get a full set.

500.00 plus shipping  for two door panels two kick panels and two rear panels.  All look to be in very good condition.

The question becomes how concerned are you about stock appearing? If it is very important for you then buy the new Metro panels, as was stated before the Just Dashes recovered panels don't look like stock panels. They look great, but if you want stock look and feel they are definitely not what you are looking for.

Something else that has always concerned me about the Just Dashes recovered panels (I looked pretty seriously about getting mine done several years ago) is what happens if there is a small crack, or a gash/chunk missing?  Will that defect show through the new cover, or do they fill them in so it is at least smooth?

They fill them in. When I talked to Just Dashes about it before they said they could fix holes in panels as well.

Well,  Ola, says the panels are just sitting around in bubble wrap and he has no use for them.  He never installed them and says they look to have been installed once without much damage at all to them.  He says his family thinks they look better than his original red interiors on his two Cuda's.
He also threw in that these do not appear exactly as stock and wanted me to know that these will be a tad bit different.
I think it is a go since I have been looking for red interior parts for so long.

He runs this place.
