harness rebuild

weighing in my options here... anyone know who and have a ball park about rebuilding my original harness?

Have you considered just buying a new one?

I used to be in the wire harness business. The way we would build a new harness from an existing one would be to take a piece of plywood. Using nails and colored felt pens, we would use the nails and different felt pens to tree out the original. Then copy it onto another one using the original as a template. Then build the new one from what we first built. So you can see it can be time consuming. By doing it this way, you'll ensure you copied the original just like it was. Wire needs to be TS 16949 certified, RoHs compliant,

You'll need good crimping tools. Machine crimping and stripping is far superior to hand crimping since it never creates inconsistentsies in PSI or wire stripping.

thanks fpr the info, whats your take on ron francis? are they pretty easy to install?

I`m almost done installing the RF wiring in my car. I like it for the fact I could install the fusebox in a different location, getting rid of the always problem giving bulkhead connector and the great quality of used materials, but it`s not plug in and play.  There`s no wiring included for heater/ air ,or wipers either.

I did the painless in my 71 and it was ok.  It isn't drop in.  It is a universal Mopar Harness so there are no ends or anything.  You will need to cut and splice stuff.

when a nice #-matching car would be involved, I`d vote for restored factory wiring in a heartbeat.  If not, choose what suits your application best.  I`m glad I picked RF. I modified my dash and console, and this wiring allowed me to change position of the fusebox and hook up the new gauges easy.

I'd just pm, Slotts myself. He can rebuild your harness and does an excellent job.  He will do what it needs to make it as new with no short cuts and no worries
