Work Completed Week Ending 11/21/04
« on: November 21, 2004 - 09:50:14 PM »
The gas tank is in the 73 :boxer:  I went out this afternoon to connect the four vapor lines and the gas line at the tank but the vapor collector was grungy so i removed it (two 1/2" bolts) for a clean and paint when it started to rain :ack:  Btw the electrical connector just falls off the new sending unit contact bolt. Anyone else had a similar situation :dontknow:

Got a corner in the basement cleaned up and tomorrow I'm lining it with plastic sheeting and setting up my sand blasting cabinet again!!! Got a shop vac to suck the dust and then I'm running my air hose from the garage down to the basement through a nicely cut hole in the wall/ceiling!!!  Gotta get busy on cleaning and painting parts as I'm at basically a stand still right now!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Finally I can post something in one of these threads.  I just finished my suspension install.  When I bought my car it had 255 rear tires on 3-1/4" offset wheels and air shocks in the rear (to keep the tires off the fenders).  I hated the air shocks and am planning a 440 swap, so today I finally got around to putting in .920 torsion bars, ESPO big block leaf springs (stock height) and monroe gas shocks all around.  I also put on an adjustable pinion snubber.  Here are a few before/after pics.  The work was done at my buddy's shop with a lift.  its raining now or else i would post some "new stance" pictures as well. :guitar:

I also found this nasty little patch in my frame.   :eekbig:   The rest of the frame is very solid.  Will be ordering some new wheels soon to get those tires under the fenders.

Max, those pictures look great!  It's kinda a bummer you found that rivited patch job on your frame, but that can always be cleaned up later on. ;)

Thanks guys!  I'll probably be messing with the torsion bar adjustment tomorrow so I'll snap some side shots and post em.  The stance is already much improved.

Should be able to squeeze the harness connector with a pair of pliers to tighten the connector so it fits tighter on the sending unit.
