Air Gap intake and heat Crossover
« on: January 01, 2011 - 03:34:23 PM »
The top of the heat cross over port is exposed above the intake. I don't think it looked like this when I removed it. Is this ok the way it is or is there a intake gasket that will cover the entire port?

Thanks,
Brian

It's fine, that opening doesn't go anywhere, no gasket will cover it

OT:

Take the chrome water neck off for a cast iron factory.
It'll leak. They all do eventually.

I had the same question when I did my engine. You can use felpro gaskets that cover the hole if you want

the exposed port is just to allow the heat to get out around the heat cross over port so it doesn't over heat the intake side of the head
