cuda seat rail pads/spacers
« on: January 09, 2011 - 08:47:26 PM »
i was helping my friend on his 74 cuda that appears to be all original. at the bucket seat tracks there are 8  total rubber looking spacers/pads. my 72 barracuda does not have them and i am about to install the bucket seats once i install the carpeting. i see the pads on many dealers etc and was wondering if i can find some generic spacers to use at home depot etc.they dont have to be correct looking only practical, thanks

My Super Bee has buckets and I lost the black spacers during disassembly. I used wooden disks from home depot and painted them black. (Later I bought the right ones but they are expensive for just a plastic spacer)

Yeah it's a wooded disk with a pre drilled hole in the middle. They round the edges and I am guessing it is some kind of foot for a couch?

I see them in craft stores too. They are like 50 cents or so and come in different sizes. Once it's painted, no one will ever see them.

A hole saw with centering bit would make decent spacers out of scrap 3/4 plywood sheet, and the plywood won't crack apart over time.  Paint black or wrap with wide electric tape.  Just a thought.
I spent $28 on ebay and called it good enough. Yes kinda pricey, but the cost was nothing compared to the cost of restoring the car.
