To keep or not to keep? Door Sticker opinions
« on: January 19, 2011 - 11:01:30 PM »
Howdy folks,

About to paint the 1970 doors for my 1971 Cuda clone/tribute/whatever. The big question is, date-wise these not being doors original to the car nor the intended clone, should I keep and preserve or remove the sticker? Once done, should I simply leave things be or do I have any other options. Of course the intent is to keep it on paper as a 1970 so I don't want to do anything that would later come back to haunt me!

Does the VIN on the sticker match your car?

If so, do what you can to preserve it. They do not come off well.

If it is from a different car, can you email me with a clear photo of it for my records please?

It does not match and I would be happy to shoot a picture to you. I figured the heat gun, acetone and a d/a would take care of it but I wanted to tread lightly.

Just my  :2cents: .

Do you have another sticker to put there?  (Like one that matches your VIN from another door or something?)

If not, I would leave it just because although it's not the correct VIN, it does look nice IMO if there is a factory sticker of some sort on the door.

Can you remove it without damaging it?

I don't think they come off easily.  Not saveable any way.

I would keep it.  Looks better IMO to see the factory sticker.

Did you shoot a picture of it to Barry.

I need my original drivers door for my barracuda.

A photos would be great, esecially if you do decide to remove it. ECS can make an exact reproduction of it from the photo if that car does exist or shows up in the future.

If I know of the car it matches I could put you in touch with the owner if I know who it is also.

I was trying to replace the one on my Superbee and someone turned me onto a company that reproduces them.

I haven't called yet but it looks like what I need (and what you need too)

It doesn`t match so why keep it?Remove it and either go without one or have one reproduced.  :2cents:

A previous thread when I inquired about the exactness of the reproduction sticker there was a picture comparison of the 2.

Barry posted this picture here before.
