Actual build dates for the pre-late 1972 cars are pretty much impossible to nail down. You can check all the date codes on parts you KNOW are original to the car. As one example, my T/A had a scheduled production date of 417. The original engine was assembled 422, so I know my car was built late, possibly sometime between 423 & 430?
