putting a thicker bumper to lower the pedal may stop the pedal from over centering & continually ride on the release brg

you may be right,,that's what I need to check when I try it,,I think you may be able to do some to help as long as you don't do to much,,may not get all the free travel ,,it will be  one of those try it and see if it moves in on the bearing,,if it does then I will live with the free travel as it is more of an annoyance than anything   ,,but it would be nice to stop it with out changing the clutch until I need to

I'm glad I posted this then. Wasn't sure if it was a sign of a bigger problem or just soem quirk.

Since I will be taking it all apart at some point, I will probably change the clutch.

What clutch and pressure plate would be good without the clunk but yet not be overly strong? I don't plan to hop the engine anymore than the stock 335 HP
