60's AC unit question

When I got my Cuda it came with AC, but it was far from stock. It's a 3604695 part number compressor and it's not cooling much anymore. I picked up a retrofit kit so I can change it from R12 to R134 and it came with pretty basic instructions. I went by an AC repair place here to get them to do the work after reading the instructions and discovering that I need to know where the high and low side service ports are. Nobody at the shop knew where it was either, and told me that they couldn't help me, although they would be happy to catch the R12 for me once I figured out how to get it out. I found 2 plastic caps on the compressor, and I'm assuming that they're what I'm looking for, but I don't want to start messing with it until I'm sure. Does anyone know which/where the high and low sides should be and how difficult the job is?

If the techs at the shop you went to can't find the high and low side ports they are either lazy or don't know enough about A/C systems to be working on them. I suggest you go to another shop that knows what they are doing!

I took your advice and found a different shop. The guy looked old enough that he may have actually seen that style compressor before, and apparently he had. My Spanish is only slightly better than my mandarin Chinese, so there was a bit of a language barrier, but I got thew point across. He recharged the system using the kit I bought and didn't charge me anything, so I'll be going to him if any of the other cars have any AC issues. He even checked all the belts to make sure they were tight enough.
