Need some wheel width advice.....
« on: February 03, 2011 - 09:16:50 PM »
Im getting steel wheels for my 71 Challenger and can't decide on what to get. I have a place that will do any combo.

Should I run all 15x7's?

Or should I run 15x6 in the front with 15x7 or 15x8 in the rear??

I believe my rear tires are 255/60R15 at the moment and i really like them.

I also need to figure out what 15" size tire to get up front in order to look right and still be skinnier than the rear.....  :burnout:

I'd step up to at least 17" rims, mucher wider selection of tires.

I`ve got 15x7 all four .  255 in the rear and 235 up front. The front looks good and the rear looks a bit beafier  :dunno:
I plan on using steelies in the future too, but I like a bit more difference front -rear... I`ll probably use 15x6 and 15x8 with 235 and 275

I don't like the way 15x6's push the wheel center out.  I think you could get the meaty look all around and the bigs/littles look if you could get the same "front" spacing on all 4 corners.

15x7 fronts stock backspace, 15x8 rears 4.5" backspace.  235/60s and 255/60s  just about perfect!

If I was to go that way again, I'd go steelies with dog dishes... (have the dishes, just not the wheels!)  but looking in my wallet 15x7s off an M-body (super cheap over hear still) would look great, too.

I believe i will run 7 in the front and decide on 8 in rear most likely....  :chatting:

255/60s are a great fit on an 8" rim.
Burnouts are cool but Traction is the Action
