Passon Hemi Overdrive
« on: February 08, 2011 - 10:29:50 PM »
Hello,

I am new to the site, I have a post in the new intro section.  I am thinking about this conversion, and wanted to get some feedback by anyone who is using this setup.  I have done a search, but did not come up with much.  I already have a 833.  Just wanted to know how easy the installation is, how well does it shift, would you do it again ect.?

This is probably the most expected product to come out for the Mopar in quite some time.  A "True" bolt-in design with no modifications.  There is a waiting list for these at the present time as production is just starting.  Please contact Jaime Passon for better specifications and true timelines.

I'm excited for this and I sell for Hurst Driveline Conversions, so that should say something.  Jaime has always built quality components and I expect the same from this and judging by the photos on Moparts - It looks all the part.

Hi, thanks for the reply.  Yes the new 5 speed does look nice!  I guess I should have been a little more specific.  I would like to convert my 833 into an overdrive using the passon 4 speed gear set.

Andrew - I have the Passon unit behind a 451 stroker that pulls 7000RPM on occasions. Jamie did a good job of spreading the gear ratios and I do not see a problem with them. Very strong box and of course, she goes straight in. Only thing is you need an 18 spline clutch plate then it is a 2 hour swap.
