need help w/ grease boots on front susp.
« on: February 28, 2011 - 02:30:09 PM »
I am wanting to replace the rubber grease boots on my front susp. (specifically on the tie rods, pitman arm and idler arm).  Those items were replaced in 1987 and probably don't have but 20,000 miles on them, if that.  But from sitting for so long(in a garage) the rubber is dry rotted.  The components are in good shape except for the boots.

Does any one know if you can purchase the boots only?
I have seen the ones at autoparts stores in their Dorman "universal" section, but they don't have the metal toothed keeper on the bottom of the boot.  It looks like the grease would just leak out the bottom.

Mancini lists. Kind of pricey but way less than the Mopar reissue set

I used energy suspension boots from Autozone. Probably 25% of the cost and they seem nice.
