Starter won't turn

My 74 Cuda is doing the exact same thing yours was doing. All I get is clicks. Except now I sometimes don't even get that. Now nothing happens whe I turn the key. My ignition lock sticks. Could it be that?

Check your wires sounds like a bad ground. I had similar trouble recently I took the wires off the starter sanded/wirebrushed the terminals and posts they were filthy,cleaned around the block where the ground cable attaches put it all back together and everything was fine.
