that has me sold right there! What kinda rpm's were they runnin? I thought the overdirves had the t inch retainer, mine has the 4.8...so what do I do ther?

For a big block, You take the front retainer off and have a machine shop turn it down to 4.80" diameter for $20 take the bell with you so the guy can get the exact fit.

For a small block, I take the front retainer and have it turned down to 4.80", $20,  then have the bell housing hole opened  up to 4.80".

Everything else bolts right on but sometimes you have to drill and tap the rear shifter mount for your shifter to bolt on. My 3 trannies were drilled from the factory.  You flip your 3-4 shift lever over to get the proper gear pattern.

Cooter, For $100 Overdrive, if you don't like it, the next guy will give you $200 for it with the modded front bearing retainer.  You can sell it to E or B body guys, so let them try it.

Depends on your pocket book.
