finally had my rotator cuff surgery
« on: March 04, 2011 - 02:15:06 PM »
It's been 8 days since i had my right rotator cuff surgery and man, do you ever learn quickly how to use your other hand for everything.

I'm feeling a little better each day but everything i do is a challenge.  I'm not able to drive.  My grandmother passed 2 days after my surgery and i wasn't able to be a pallbearer for her funeral.

I have never in my life watched so much tv as i have in the last few days.  Anyway, i'm OK and i am on my way to recovery.  and yes, it hurts.

Were you a pitcher when you were younger? Just wonder because my brother was, and he had the same surgery.

As for adapting, tell me about it. I don't let my right hand touch the steering wheel now. I will when the reflexes improve, but I'm not there yet.

Best wishes on a speedy recovery.

Funny you ask that, I had the same surgery a few years ago.  And yes, I did pitch through high school.

Rehab was quick, make sure you push yourself, or the ligaments with tighten up and limit your range of motion.

Keep up with the physical therapy & you'll be pitching 90-MPH fastballs before you know it.
