Hockey Stripe and adhesive removal
« on: March 03, 2011 - 10:49:52 AM »
my '72 hockey stripe is fried and most of it blew off when i hit it with a pressure washer. I have a few chunks still stuck on and all of adhesive that I need to remove. How do I take it off w/o damaging the orignal paint?

You can buy rubber-like wheels that fit a die grinder (1/4"shank) and I believe 3M make a version to remove the stripes. Go to Google and type in stripe removal wheels. Time and patience and they come off fine. Good luck

Go to your local sign supply shop and get vehicle safe adhesive remover.  It's a citrus based remover that will be paint safe.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.
