door panel restoration
« on: March 24, 2011 - 11:31:22 PM »
The door panels on our 74 challenger are sun dried and the texture is flaking off, You can scratch them with you finger nail about a 32nd of inch deep, Is there any way to restore them or should I start looking for a set, They are white.    Thanks  Brent

I had mine redone at Just Dashes. They look real nice but it was costly. I could of got a new pair for less money! I read posts that the new reproductions are close to the orginals now.

I don't think the Challenger door panels are available just yet. Mopar Dave said possibly May or June.

If you don't want to waite for the new Challenger panels to come out...or you don't want to spend that much money on them, you can paint a set of black panels.  Black seems to have held up a lot better then the colored panels.  Herb's Parts has a new line of interior paint that looks promising.  Check their website.  I'm pretty sure they have a short video about the new paint.
