torsion bar size

Here's my question.I installed new 0.96 street handling bars.That's one size larger for a 440.Ended up installing my 340 motor.Do I need smaller bars or might it be alright.I read somewhere t/as came with 440 bars anyway.The rear springs are new from espo  6 leaf for a 440 car.Could  also put my 40 year old 440 bars back in . Thanks for any help.

With radial tires, etc., the 0.96" bars will not be too large.  For handling purposes, many go larger than that today.

  If you find it too rough I'd step up in the shock department first. You will be amazed what a good modern shock will do! Hotchkis/Bilstein RCD

No tires yet.I was just going to buy basic radial ta 15".The shocks on it now are used moroe.wow those shocks are expensive.It sounds like the bars are ok .Thanks

It's actually not a bad price for Bilsteins....but, comparing them to Monroes is like comparing the NFL to peewee football.....they are worth it and they last a long, long time

   I have the one inchers on mine....318.   I love the way the car handles.
