    I repair and service lawnmowers and snowblowers etc.... So today I'm at a customers house drain all the oil out of his lawn tractor go get a new jug of oil (I has bought a dozen 5L jugs at Walmart a few months ago)
    I open it ,start poring it out when I discover it's used? Black as a hockey puck? Someone had actually ( I'm guessing) bought a jug of oil , changed there oil and put the old stuff back in the jug then returned it?  :villagers: The jug was perfectly clean, I had no clue till I opened it? Hard to believe people are actually that hard up? :dunno: I'm not going to take it back. Can you imagine the Walmart clerk thinking ya right you cheap jerk sure you bought it this way?
    This is a new one on me? Sheesh people are resorting to new lows these days?  :banghead:

    When I used to be a mechanic, the guys at the parts store had some stories.  THey said people would buy a box of spark plugs and replace all but the two end plugs with old ones and return them.  They said it happened quite a few times.

    I used to shoe horses for a living. Had a mobile forge to visit my customers. I had several knives ,hammers and tongs stolen from my trailer, but what surprised me most was the brooms that seemed to disappear almost every month....  :screwy:

    fresh out of high school i worked at a walmart tire and lube. i pulled more than one old dirty air filter out of a brand new box. this was in 2000 been going on for years never thought someone would do that with oil.

    it happens a lot and with other stuff also, I had a girl I worked with and she would buy expensive perfume and swap it out with the cheep stuff and return it as if it was ok.   :rofl:

    People never suprise me anymore at what they are capable of, I do get suprised with the good people do nowadays, sad fact as it was the other way around years back (when i walked 5 miles to school through a snow storm, i know, know)

    A friend of mine was buying two 5 lb hand weights to use on P90X. When they were rang up the weights one came up as a 5 lb (about 5$) and the other came up as a 35 lb (19$). Someone took the 35 lb weight and swapped tags with the 5 lb. It really is ridiculous how many people can do things like this. It's just so petty!

    My mom works at a store called Gibson's. I guess you could call it a general store. They sell pretty much everything. They aren't set up for UPC codes. They use all price tags. People will come in and swap price tags on things all the time. Especially around Christmas. And the clerks pretty much learn what everything costs just from punching it in all the time. And people will say "Well, you have to give it to me for that price because it was your mistake!" I could never work in Retail....

    when i buy new oil filters, i open the box and examine the filter to make sure it hasn't been 'recycled' with a used one.  nothing can be taken for granted as being new unless you see it for yourself.

    Years ago I bought 6 quarts of oil at the local G.I. Joes store all of them had old oil in them. Took them back, and told them, ( I wasn't going to let it slide), they didn't believe me. So I took a chance and went back to the oil section, and we found about 10 more quarts of used oil.

    Good times or bad times there are always thiefs.

    Is it possible it was oil to be recycled but ended back up on the shelf?  :dunno:

    Guess we need to start doing the same thing with oil jugs too. (and spark plugs?!?!)
