Shaker finish
« on: March 20, 2011 - 08:46:10 PM »
Hi guys . Anyone have any ideas on hoiw to fix the finish on my shaker . As a young man 19 I use bo run the bubble unscrewed to the base plate which caused it to float scaring the surface around the ring . I know I was a dumb a65 . Anyway that was a long time ago and I would like ideas how to fix it . I have never worked with argent paint and do not want to screw this up . Do I have to sand to a smoth surface or spot it in the spray over it with regular paint . Some help please .

a challenger shaker...neat!

If you have the proper argent paint, I think a nicely sanded (600-800 grit) surface should provide a decent base. The paint will add the texture. Spot painting it may be a problem. I tried that on my tail panel and it took a lot of time to blend it. It will look better and may actually be easier if you prep/paint the entire bubble.
I think it does not take a clear on top, but I am probably going to have a matte finish clear added to mine for protection.
But I am no body man by any stretch.  :2cents:
