Ok, another update about this issue;
Alan at AMD got back to me ASAP, this morning, and gave me the number for the install center for AMD. I called there and spoke with two people who were very helpful. The one Guy did a build two weeks ago on a 71 Cuda, and had the same experience that I am having. He gave me information on how he made the parts fit together. It does involve cutting and welding the AMD housing, also they used a stretcher to re-curve the housing.
The guys I spoke with were very helpful and honest, and so I will continue to use AMD for this project.
And yes these panels are "relevent" to other panels manufactured by the same company. You can only judge a company by past performance not on what they promise to do.
I hold customer service at the same level though, and so far, AMD is very good at that. And like I said before, the quarter panel is near perfect.
