Windshield wiper stops anywhere..???

My wipers stops anywhere i twist the buttom, -
Is it something about a ground wire, - and if, where to do it..

Cowboy, how you doing? I had this problem with my Charger years ago. Check the ground at the switch. Thats where my problem was.

With a 71 R/t, you should have a variable speed wiper switch. Ground is always a good place to start. The switch nut has to be tight against the metal mounting frame and bottom left screw for mounting the switch panel into the dash has to be tight. Always a good idea if you remove the switch panel to clean the area where the metal switch frame contacts the dash frame.

However, losing ground at the switch panel to the dash frame would cause the motor to run faster than even the highest speed available from the switch and the switch wouldn't be able to shut off the wiper motor along with other lighting problems. It seems to me that either internally the contacts are worn and or it's a corrosion issue.

Every thing else works perfect.
I got an "extra leg" for a wire on the switch, with no wire on, but it got pos. power at all time..

That is the B/U terminal and there is no connection made on that terminal. Yes, you should see 12 VDC all the time. That is the after side on the internal circuit breaker. The before side is the B terminal.

Ok, here is a test you could do with the socket disconnected. Check the resistance between the B terminal and F1, you should read nothing in the off position, 0 ohms at the first click and then down to -30 ohm at the fastest speed. Do the same between the A terminal and F1. You should get the same results. If you are seeing the reading drop off to nothing and come back as you are moving the knob, the switch is an issue.

Well this brings back memories...........Way back in 1971, I had the same problem on my 70.  Took it to the dealer under warranty at that time....... and they had to replace the  "park switch".      where that is......
