Rear shelf retainer brackets

I received some really good tips on my rear side trim panel brackets and now need help with the rear shelf retainers.  There are two small brackets sandwiched into the rear shelf between the cardboard upper layer and the insulation pad underneath. I have the small brackets as shown that sandwich in the shelf but need a picture of the mating bracket that mounts on the steel body shelf.  I've enclosed pictures showing what the shop manual shows and the brackets I have.  The brackets are in their original location in the original rear shelf pad. There may even be a third bracket that mounts in the center of the shelf just forward of the rear defroster cut-out. PK

I am getting ready to install mine also. Put in the new speakers, and got my rear tray marked and ready to cut out. I have one bracket left from the old tray, and i am still looking for the other one. Not sure either how it goes together. Did you glue down your insulation to the back side of the tray or onto the car shelf?

I believe the clips look similar to the door panel clips.  They may very well be door panel clips.  I tossed my origonal package tray years ago.  The new REM trays don't come with any tabs underneith for the clips.  I was told on this site that it really doesn't matter if the clips are there or not.  The seat back and the side trim will hold it in place.  I still might put a little weatherstrip adheasive on it just so I don't get any rattles.

I believe ECS is making a package tray now that is supposed to be 100% correct.  I havn't looked into it though.

I tried the door panel clip idea and it works.  Picture attached.  To Challengercrazy---I plan to glue the insulation to the underside of the tray- - with one exception.  I used two layers of butyl foil faced sound deadner and another layer of cardboard.  The total thickness is the same as the insulating pad and tray from the factory.

So i have my rear tray in, speakers, etc. I mocked up my rear quarter panels, and discovered that they come down and across part of the rear tray. Is this correct?    It has been 4 years and i dont remember.

Yes, the rear interior panels cover a couple inches of the package tray at the ends.
