windshield trim screws are they phillips head or hex?
« on: May 04, 2011 - 10:09:18 PM »
I have a couple rusty hex head screws with a fine thread holding on my windshield trim the lower piece with 4 screw holes in it down by the wiper blades. Are these correct? If not what type of fastener goes there? Shouldn`t they be chrome plated or stainless steel to prevent rusting with maybe a Philips head instead of hex head? These don`t look like the right screws that belong there they look like those small screws that bolt the grill on. If anyone has a picture of this area showing the fasteners it would be appreciated! Thanks!

They should be chrome plated phillips head screws with a built in washer.  Not a loose spinning washer but one that is part of the screw itself.  The phillips head is rounded and then the washer area flattens out.  Did that make sence?  I tried searching for one on R/T Specialties website but there's too much stuff to look through.
