please help ASAP!!!!

I am finally going to start my new rebuilt engine and have someone coming to help me.  I need help before he gets here! 
My problem:  I have had the car up on jackstands for a good while and when I let the car down off the jack stands, the steering bar that goes across under the oil pan, is very close to the pan(driver side) and on the passenger side it is actually rubbing on the pan.  The only things that have been changed have been new engine mount isolators(i used the oldsteel mounts that attach to the k-frame)and the isolators were identical to the old ones.  New gas shocks(ordered specifically for my year/model), new inner& outer tie rod ends and adjusting sleeve on driver side which I adjusted to match the length of the old set(the driver side is actually the side that is NOT rubbing on pan.  I also took some of the joints loose to replace some of the dust boots.  I can't figure out why it is so close to pan??  What is the normal distance between the oil pan and steering arm??

I had the same problem. I had to shim up the mount between the K-frame and motor mount. I belive it's the differences in motor mount suppliers? Eg Chinese.....

I am also sick of the aftermarket Chinese / MEXO CRAP!!! We need a wealthy investor to help someone start repopping these parts right. I have a chino set of disk rotors that are worthless they are off and the rims line up but the lugnuts wont line up. Also bought a few alternators and points in the past that were made in Mehico that were worthless ripoffs NO quality control.


   I will BUY AMERICAN and stop supporting the drug lords and pinko commies who obviously lack Quality Control processes in manufacturing!!

how did you shim up the mount?  There seems to be no room to shim, since the long bolt that holds the mountto the k member is threaded into the welded nut.  did you mean to shim between the rubber isolator and the mounting bracket?

I used 3/16 or 1/4" flat plate, machined a slot in it so it looks somewhat like a square horse shoe. Slipped it betwen the steel mount and the K-frame. The long bolt that keeps the engine attached to the frame has a bigger hole. I loosened that bolts off jacked up the motor slid in the shim I made then let the motor back down, tightened it all up.

I had the same problem, and the steering bar on my car was mounted backwards, maybe this is your problem.
