I'm noticing Bilstein sells shocks via many vendors. Is there a difference between the RCD shocks and Bilstein shocks that do not have the RCD decals? Like are they valved different inside? :dunno:

some claim to be revalved...how to prove it without a shock dyno, I don't know.   The price is good compared to most Bilsteins that I see advertised.  I think I have paid more than $400 a set for those I have put on Buicks.

RCD is a distributor, like Firm Feel. They do claim to optimize their shocks, so perhaps they have a dyno to dial in the specific valving. Perhaps Bilstein has them already within a useable range based on average weights of the applications. Dunno.

I have the RCD shocks and am happy with them, just wondered if they are different than other vendors Bilstein shocks without the RCD decal. Like on PST site they offer hollow sway bars that look exactly like what Hotchkis sells? Just rebranded maybe? :dunno:

RCD says it worked with Bilstein to develop the Black Bilstein Classics line...author of this link says he worked for Bilstein for nine years....

I would guess that if the shock is black and it is part of the Classics line, it is the same shock
