doug's header confusion
« on: June 02, 2011 - 04:05:56 PM »
summit racing has doug's headers for a '72 cuda, but it states that they don't fit with a 727 tranny. can that be true? I thought the cuda only comes with a 727.

That's strange.   :screwy:

Fellow member 72challorange has Doug's on his 340 stroked to 422 cubic inches, and I believe he has a 727.

Usually means wont fit column shift. The linkage gets in the way.  Sometimes you may see a denotation saying with or without power steering

Yep, fits sb 727 + 904 with floor shift auto for sure.  I use an MP mini starter.

the catalog says they don't fit column shift cars but do fit floor shifts as others have indicated

It looks like you have two choices. D453, and D453-R.  Do yourself a favor and spring for the D453. The ceramic coating suppresses the heat quite a bit.
