Oil capacity on 383

I got a new dipstick tube.
So now I have to ask a question that seems too simple, but--
What is the capacity of the BB pan with baffles and windage tray?
P. S. I'm a quart over full at 6 qts.

Published specs show 4 quarts plus 1 for the filter (assuming a long filter).

I would say your dipstick is reading correctly.

How about for a stock pan and standard filter?

My 1970 383 Magnum has the stock pan and has always used 5 quarts. I always changed filters so never worried about how much stays in the filter.
