over charging.. what now?

My battery went cactus over the weekend and I had to charge to get it going, I thought I would check the voltage at the battery and it was charging at 15 volts..I take it that its over charging, Sooo whats the deal with the regulator, what where when and how?? :dunno:

15 is a little high.
Should be between 13.8 and 14.4
Just change out the reg.
Burnouts are cool but Traction is the Action

it could be a bad diaode in the alt also , the reg is on the firewall & is approx $15

could it be that it is charging that high because your battery has a bad cell?

also, make sure your regulator has a good ground or it will over charge

Thanks guys, I'll check the ground, then battery , then reg if needed.. and pray its not a diode.. ???
