OK... so the good news and bad news...
Bad: I discovered that my rear end is shifted about 1/4 - 1/2" to the drivers side. Pure 70's craftsmanship. lol Easy fix, though.
Good: Everything still fit perfectly. The rear drivers tire is a little close to inner fenderwell, but clears fine. This is the single biggest change in the car yet. Hooks up MUCH better now. Of course I still get wheelspin, but when it bites those Direzzas grab hard. Super grippy. :-) Handles much crisper.
I'm glad I went with the tire sizes I did. The shorter sidewalls make a noticeable difference tightening the car up and the wheels fill the wells just fine for my taste.
So, to recap:
17x8 with 235/45/17, 4" backspace
17x9 with 265/40/17, 5" backspace
Lovin it! :-)
