Power Steering Pressure hose
« on: July 31, 2011 - 02:00:20 PM »
I need help with finding the correct hose for my application.  I have a 73  Cuda With a 440 and March pulley setup.  I am running a Saginaw style pump that came with the march setup i purchased off EBAY.   I tried what Advance auto was saying was the correct hose for application, No GO.   I am not entirely familiar with the names for the style fittings but attached pictures.  Also i am seeing that most hoses go along the motor side of the steering box before entering the box.   As you can see in the picture there is no room for that  due to the proximity of the headers.   Any hope would be greatly appreciated as i am close to turning the key on this one, maybe a week or 2......

If you're not able to find anything that works, I have a Saginaw power steering line I had custom made I could sell you.

Each end un-screws (bolt pattern) so all you have to do is get a hydraulic hose making company make you the right length between each end.

I used it for years on my 340 without any problems.

i think the pump end is a 3/8 inverted flare and the pump end is a 5/16 male o-ring.   can anyone with this setup post a picture of hose setup.

it looks to me that you are missing the fitting in the steering box that hose attaches to . the pressure line typically runs close to the inner fender & hooks over the box to the fitting on the steering box
