4 speed parts value?
« on: January 03, 2005 - 04:48:43 PM »
My uncle just sold his 72 roadrunner that he had converted from a standard to an auto.  He has the pistol grip and the linkage and I am trying to buy it off him.  What is a fair price for this stuff, not the most you could possibly get for it and not the minimum either, just a fair price?   Thanks guys

Quick question.
Did the length or height of the pistol shifters vary from certain cars?
For example, the shifter in my car seems pretty low but there is a guy with
a Charger that has the pistol grip shifter and it looks long enough to shift from the back seat.

Just curious.

There were different shifters for different applications.  Short ones for E-Bodies and bucket seat B-Bodies,  longer ones for bench seat, really twisted up long ones too.

This is a reproduction of the original.

Yeah but my understanding was that the ones out of 71 and up B-bodies were the same as E-bodies...right???

So my uncle's car never was a console car (72 roadrunner) so his shifter would not fit my cuda, correct?

"quote"  70 up B body with console & all E bodys ,short stick

Chryco, don't you mean 71 up B body with console & all E bodys, short stick?

If his uncles 72 Road Runner had bucket seats but had console delete, what shifter would it have had? Jim

You are right Jim , mistyped it , fixed now , if it had a no console it could have either stick , the bench seat stick with the forward mount position or the rear mount between the seats , I possibly incorrectly assumed when he said it didn`t have a console that it probably had a bench seat which may be wrong , I don`t ever remember seeing a 72 B biody 4 spd car with a rear mount shifter & no console
