    Not A Mopar, But Still A Nice Burnout!

    Here is a pic I took of my family's '74 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. 472 engine, completely stock.
    I poured some water on the ground and asked a friend to drive (because he can't take good photos).
    He told me that as he was nearing the top of the hill, he actually let of the gas- the tire was still spinning!
    Anyway, pretty good for a anti-smog-device engine with only 8.25 compression ratio.

    Actually, that photo is from Sept., 1988- but it would have looked just the same during winter!

    Yeah, it is a 5,000-lb car.
    One of my friends had an interesting theory... maybe the weight prevents it from moving forward (and up the hill) faster than it would if it was lighter. Could be.

    I lived in California for 28 years. I can tell from the trees and bushes, also roofs homes. They all look the same.
    And the fact your from San Fernando.  :grinyes:

    Don't worry... there was plenty of tire left!

    That reminds me of something. A Mopar one of my brothers once owned- a '66 Plymouth Fury III, 318, automatic. He told me his right rear tire one time only lasted 3 months. Can anyone guess why?  ;)

    That's pretty good you can tell from only the trees (and houses).
    Yeah, I've lived out here in the San Fernando valley my whole life (43 years). Born in Van Nuys, now in the Northridge/Porter Ranch area. One of the best parts is the fact that the Mopar Spring and Fall flings are out here! (And the weekly [Friday night] car gathering usually has several Mopars.)

    you don't happen to know guy having a shop in SF valley, in Oso Avenue (used to be Speedway Autobody, owner was Peter Jenslund.. very very enthusiastic Mopar builder)... that's my buddy and fellow country man in LA.. been there about 36 times kicking stones and dust  :grinyes:

    No, I haven't heard of him. I do know where Dick Landy's shop is (or was) in Chatswoth, near Corbin Ave. and Nordhoff St.
    It's very possible that one of the Mopar guys who are at a weekly (Friday) night knows Peter. Because several of them have had their engines rebuilt professionally. I'll ask them next time I'm there (this Friday if it's not raining).
