72Cudamaan YOU'RE right, they should be officially introduced before I ramble off that they have officially joined the board. I've been in touch with them trying to get them to come on board and they told me yesterday that they had signed up and agreed to offer us their units at member discount pricing.
I've been looking at plasma cutters for quite a while comparing units and prices. The common denominator between more expensive units like Hobart vs Longevity is that they use the same electronic innards which are not USA components by any means, but Japanese mosfets generally made by Toshiba along with a mix of various Chinese components. Hobart uses some coils made in USA and they are assembled in the USA but that's it. They don't offer Pilot Arc starting and they don't offer the latest IGBT technology.
I am not a Longevity rep but I am one of those guys that do research anything I buy fairly extensively and try to get the most for my $$$ in quality, reliability and performance.
If you do your own research, you can't touch a Plasma unit with IGBT Technology, Pilot Arc Starting (great cutting on rusty or less than perfect metal surface) and given a 5 year warranty for the prices Longevity is willing to offer us along with generous consumable pricing. Hopefully they will be on board soon and you guys can ask them yourselves. I will be giving a review of my unit in the following weeks.
