Extremely Rare 71 cuda?
« on: July 17, 2011 - 08:51:13 PM »
Hello all. I am new to this place and as i restore a 67 cuda (restomod) I am also trying to help my uncle out much with info.
Ok what he has and to me I think it is a one of a kind. It is a 1971 cuda with brite white exterior in color and the seats are orange. It is ran by a 318 small with auto, air, rear window heater, luggage rack, and tow hitch. He has the broad cast sheet to prove this and hes not one to lie about what he has. Trust me if you seen what he has well lets call it the mopars dreams haha.

Items he has
1969 Daytona ORIGINAL (traded)
1971 Hemi Cuda convertible (tribute car)
1971 Cuda
1970 Challenger SE
And more.
I would like to know if it is 1 of 1 and or how rare and the value of this car would be? When he got the car it was in 85% condition with no rust! all original metal on it and that odd combo of colors. We both would like to know how much it would bring if fully restored back to original?

Barracuda: There are several BH23 hard top with the GW3 Sno White and H6XV Orange and Black interior combination.
There are a handful of BH27 convertibles with the same white/orange combination.

`cuda: There are several BS23 hardtop and BS27 convertibles with that color combo also.

I don't have any pics of the car and it would be useless anyhow because its primer black now and I'm 90% sure its a solid orange for the seats not orange and black like I've seen before. One of the old owners painted the seats black as well haha but that's normal from alot of restored cars I've done.

Rare-yes but any `71 Barracuda could be called rare.Extremely rare,1 of 1,maybe-maybe not but no more valuable than any restored`71 Barracuda.I`ve seen more than several white/orange e bodies.  :2cents:

Definitely an interesting set of options, but the fact that it is a base Barracuda and not a performance 'Cuda will always hold the value down. Even a 383 Barracuda will bring additional value over a 318.

Again, a very cool car, but probably has a peak market value around $30k if done perfectly.

I do agree with you 100%. Seems to me every barracuda gets turned into a cuda most of the time. Anymore its hard to find a stock 318 model. But I highly doubt a 318 will hold value like the big blocks and or 340. He has a 340 that he's putting into it but I think he's going with the bone stock looks/ coded.
