73 Manual Brakes???
« on: July 11, 2011 - 09:24:08 PM »
Hey everyone,

Was looking over my ole 73 a couple weekends ago planning out all the parts i needed to buy, happened to notice the non exsistant brake booster. I havent touched the brake system at all, doubt the last owner did... was it common for 73's to be ordered with manual brakes??? i cant seem to find any info anywhere for it other than i can buy a replacement manual master cyl.

Any info would be appriciated,

Most people don't use the power booster.  Even with discs brakes it's not needed.
You get more "feel" with the non-assisted brakes.

Yes, '73 and '74 all have disc brakes but some came without the power boaster. I love my manual discs. The pedal is super firm of course but you get used to it quickly and it gives you the feeling you can stop like a go-cart!!

Also the spongy "Cordova" one second and the next second your locked up sensation is gone.

Total control stopping IMO
