Wheel / Rim Prep
« on: July 14, 2011 - 09:34:21 AM »
I have decided to clean-up and paint the ralley rims.
(plus a couple of new ones I have picked up.)

I am going to blast them, prime and paint.

What media, primer and paint do you guys recommend?
The last paint job did not last well

I`d powdercoat steel wheels. I have used powder on old aluminum wheels too, but even after blasting and baking them one time before paint, there is still pollution boiling out of the poreus alu.  It will last a long time on steel though. If you use powder for paint ,you can use pretty agressive media.  The paint is so thick it will give a smooth surface anyways.
