73 Chally: Colored arrows on light dimmer and wiper knobs...? rallye dash

I've seen some of these knobs where the arrows on the wiper and dimmer knobs were painted blue and yellow respectively.

There doesn't seem to be any trace of color on my 73s knobs, so I'm assuming that this detail was phased out in the later years of production... ?

I have four '73 non rallye switch clusters and two have blue wiper knobs, other two black. Light switches, two have a white recessed dimple when off, red when on. the other two, no colour.  I know it doesn't help, but I don't think you will get a definitive answer.

My early built 73 doesn't have any paint in the recessed areas.  I think it was phased out before 73.

I painted the dots in my switches. If you like the way it looks I say go for it. Build it the way you want it.

If you want to paint them, I got a good tip from "CODY".  He said to go to a drug store and buy a small hypodermic needle.  You can use that to inject the "arrows" with paint.

Didn't think of that when I was painting mine.  I bought a very small detailers paint brush from an arts and craft store (models section) that was small enuf to fit in the recessed area of the arrows.  I bought blue and yellow model paint in those small jars that matched my new switch label perfectly.  Since the arrow portion of the switch that is being painted is recessed, it doesnt matter if you get some paint on the face of the switch when painting the arrows (like I did, a little) Just let the paint dry and then take a paper napkin slightly wet with paint thinner and wipe the paint off of the switch face.  Worked perfectly.

That's exactly what I did with the E-brake reliece lever and the map light bezel.
