71 cuda fenders

  IM looking for fenders to put on my 71cuda My question is will 70 or 72 fenders fit on my 71?I have the louvers off my old fender and will transfer it to the new fender.IM having a hard time finding 71's but know of a set of 70-72 fenders for sale ...any help appeciated

 The 71 fenders are hard & expensive to find , if you can get 70 fenders they are probably the best crossover at least the side lights are the same, you will still need the gills cut in & the dual headlight mounts welded into the front of the fenders to make them work.

I tried it with my 71 cuda using 70 fenders. On the 1970 fenders the headlight bucket is welded to the fender, on 1971 the dual headlight buckets are bolted to the fenders. On 1972 and up the headlight buckets are also bolted but as Chryco said they have a different marker light which would add one more thing to change. Your best bet would be to find 71 barracuda fenders and weld in the gills, or do a little massaging to the 70 fenders by removing the welded buckets and welding in the backing nuts so that the dual bucket could be bolted in.

Hey guys thanks for the info,its been 2 years 4 months since I drove my cuda and miss doing it.I guess I ll keep looking for the right fenders.Looks like I ll have time to plan this project.I work at a local Dodge dealership as a tech and was gonna get a 426 crate motor.The parts manager can get one for a pretty god price.Im also reserching the posibility of using a 2003 5.7L hemi ,my parts manager is also looking in to that also.That will be a tough project due to its cableless computer controlled throttle and 45RFE pattern bellhousing.I might even wait for the 6.1L in 2005 but thats gonna be a Caddi style 4/6/8 configuration... not sure how that will work. well thanks for a great site        O1

Mrquik, keep an eye on Mopar Muscle magazine. They are going to do a series of articles on putting a new 5.7 Hemi in an E body Cuda! I believe they were going to do some performance modifications on it too.
