    Did 72's get the pentastar on the fender??

    Have a 72 Challenger but no hole for the pentastar. Did 72 cars get it?

    In all my years working on E-bodies I never seen one on a 72 and later , but anything is possible.

     believe they were 70 to 71 only,,but I have seen some 72's that had some 71 parts on them from the factory, but can't say if there were any penstars for sure,,best guess is no

    I'm fairly certain it was a 70-71 thing to. Just wanted to confirm that.

    My 72 had all the original metal, no pentastar on it if that helps.

    Same on the B Bodies...none on 72 or later that I have seen.  Always threatened to place one on my 72 RR'r in the correct spot - my 71 Rr'r had the Pentastar.

    I have seen them. Original, I can not say.  I have not gotten deep enough into my 72 to see if there was one, as many things (including the antenna) were filled. I have a nice pic of a 72 from Carlise with one .... fits nicely with the louvers.

    I plan to instal one on my 72, but not the 73.

    The 72 dealer brochures show them but I don't know if they accually made it to production.

    I talked to a guy with an all original '72 Rallye and it had the pentastar.

    My '72 has a pentastar, supposedly has the original sheetmetal.  It was an ealy '72 so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.  SBD=8/17/71.

    Same here...early 72 and I was told its all original metal....

    The shop that did the paint etc put on on it when they redid it...so  :dunno:
