JohnKo from NorCal/NoDak
« on: August 21, 2011 - 02:08:05 AM »
Hello all, I've been checking out this site for quite a while, and am constantly blown away by the expertise and helpfulness shown by all posters. I am a sculptor and blacksmith living in Northern Cal (Oakland) and spend part of the year in North Dakota where I grew up. As a metal guy (on many levels :ylsuper:) and an artist, I have a deep appreciation for the clean purposeful lines of the Cudas and Chally's, so have decided to purchase one (or two, y'all know how it goes) as "rolling investment properties", and also 'cause they are just so damn sweet. I recently picked up a nice PCP '71 Demon from a guy in South Dakota who I call the CarFarmer, and am in Minneapolis now looking at a couple of Challengers and a Barracuda. Might end up with one of them in a couple of days... wish me luck. SO if anyone knows of either beast for sale in the Twin Cities area (or between here and Eastern NoDak), please let me know. I am in the lower price range, (5-15k), but feel comfortable with a bit of a project, as long as it runs. I'm the metal dude, not the motor dude.
Good to finally be here, send that good purchase mojo my way!!
Also, any tips on posting pictures with my pesky iPad

Thanks folks, i'll get the picture thing figured out. Good to be aboard. I was going to put my art website as part of my signature, but wondering the rules about that sort of thing and if it is wise. I make silly and edgy stuff likes bazooka that shoots rubber chickens, 19 foot wide steel pterodactyls, a room size diorama with glow in the dark skateboarding zombies, etc, and am currently working on drawings of spaceships influenced by Mopar body styles. I know this is supposed to be about cars cars cars, so just thought I'd check before including a site not about cars and which includes my real name ( but links only to a secondary email). I also work with a group that makes giant robots that beat the snot out of each other and the sets we build for them. Like Robot Wars on steroids. Lots of steroids. But thought it'd be fun for folks to see some more outlandish reuses of industrial and military equipment. Lemme know.
