Replacing rallye guage faces?
« on: January 15, 2005 - 09:18:49 AM »
I am knee-deep in other projects but was wondering if anyone has done this? IIRC, I thought there was a guy that was producing white and black faces for the guages on Ebay? 440-$50 for the set, $200 for the set installed? Must be a bit of a chore to do this. Anyone bought a set? Are they decals or are they screen printed aluminum faces or what? It seems like decals would be a pain to apply with no air bubbles.  :ack:

I think this may have been discussed on another thread but I couldn't find it.  :dontknow:

I bought a tach for my chally at the nats a few years back. It had a rusty face but it was reacently rebuilt the guy said when he stored it it got moisture on it so for $35 I got it. I sanded the face and painted it and applied the tach decal with a little dawn and water behind the decal witch let me position it correctly. And then just pressed the water solution out with my fingers and presto! a brand new looking tach.
