The wife and I just got rid of her 02 Sunfire this morning. It had 194,000 miles on it. It still ran fine but was starting to make some front end noises. She bought the Pontiac before we met so it was time I got her into a Chrysler. We ended up buying an 08 Sebring with 50,000 miles on it. The Sunfire didn't have power windows or locks and it didn't have cruise. This Sebring is a definate step up.
Anyway, while we were waiting there in the show room, I started looking at a new burnt orange SRT-8 392 edition they had. That's a sharp looking car! It had gray stripes running accross the top of the car like the old SS Chevelles. I can't say that I was very impressed with those stripes though. I don't know if they are supposed to have a texture to them but they looked very bumpy and it kind of detracted from the rest of the car IMO.
I hadn't sat in a new Challenger before today. I hear a lot of complaints about the interiors on them. I don't know why...I thought it was very nice. The seats felt great and the shifter was in a good location. The back seat was nonexistent but it's a Challenger. If you need a back seat buy a Charger. It didn't feel like a big car from the inside. I'd love to own one but the $48,000 sticker price is out of my price range.
Speaking of Chargers, I saw a new Charger up close for the first time too. I was not a fan of the new Charger or 300 from the pictures I'd seen but man they're nice in person. I also looked at an 06 300C at another dealer. That thing was loaded. I think I may have to trade in the Durango for that 300. Can you really get 25mpg on the highway with the 5.7? It's not great but it still beats the 17/18 max I can get with the Durango.
