Dealer Information

In the glove box of my challenger was the Vehicle And Owner Identification paperwork.  This lists the original owner's name, delivery date, Selling dealer name, account number, VIN, city, etc.

Delivery Date: 4-23-74
Dealer: Tecumseh Motors
Account Number: 65419
City: Tecumseh, Nebraska

A basic google search didn't turn up anything relevant (hindered by the fact that Tecumseh is actually a brand of motor).

Is it worth trying to track down the original dealer?  Are they likely to have any records?

can't hurt to try , assuming it is still in business & assuming they actually kept records , but some dealers did keep them

Would be cool to see if they are still in business or to even find some literature to add to you car's documentation.  I tried with my car but the dealer is long gone.

Try the Tecumseh chamber of commerce to track down that dealer.  Never know if maybe the same building is being used and there's some literature from Tecumseh Motors hanging around in a back room somewhere...
